Making your own… snowboards

I learned to snowboard in the late 70s. At this point in time there wasn’t a single resort in the United States that would allow snowboards on their slopes. We hiked back country to ride. We rode first generation, wood snowboards (hand signed by people like Jake Burton Carpenter). This was all happening to a backdrop of punk rock and vertical skateboarding.

It was a pure time. A time of creation… the DIY ethic and lifestyle was in full swing.

This video brings me back to that time. Many of us have forgotten we CAN create. We can create code for a new site, we can create boards to ride in the ocean, street or snow. We can create fun.
